PARISH SACRAMENTAL PROGRAM
So, you’re wondering about our sacramental program ….
We welcome Catholic Children in Year 3 and upwards, with your support, to participate in our Sacramental Programs. As parents and guardians, you are invited to register for 2021 school-aged Sacraments here https://forms.gle/RXu3wVGg1w8rkYqv5 and send any enquiries via email to the Sacramental Program email – hfmaroubra1914@gmail, or phone 9349 1198 well prior to the program commencement. The coordinator will make contact through email with details of parent meetings, after-school catechist classes etc, before the program commences.
Our sacramental programs are conducted in the following school terms.
First Reconciliation (Year 3 children & older) 1st Term
Confirmation (Year 6 children & older) 1st & 2nd Term
First Holy Communion (Year 3 children & older) 3rd Term
Normally, notification of the Sacramental Programs is distributed in late November or early December in the year prior to the commencement of the programs by the Principal and Religious Education Coordinator of our parish school, St Aidan’s; and by the catechists of Catholic Scripture classes at Maroubra Junction Public School.
Notification is also in the parish bulletin from the end of November. Early registrations are very helpful to the planning and administration of the program.
As your child grows closer to God in their preparation, it is hoped that in presenting your child and supporting them, your knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith and your closeness to God will also grow.
Our program seeks to assist you in the preparation of your child for the Sacraments. To enable both faith and understanding to grow, it is presumed that your child’s knowledge of the sacraments will be built upon by further instruction and example at home and at school, and regular attendance at Mass. Your understanding of the Mass as central to the Catholic faith and therefore the Sacraments is important.
